Agents already collect policy data with InsurGrid.

Policies change between renewals. Agencies usually find out last.

57% of auto insurance customers shopped for a new policy in the past year, the highest rate in 19 years (J.D. Power 2025 U.S. Insurance Shopping Study), and homeowners non-renewals rose from 2018 to 2023 (U.S. Senate Budget Committee). Policy Change Monitoring keeps the data you already collected current and tells the right person when something needs attention.

Automatic refresh

Connected policies are re-checked every 15 days. Dec pages, coverages, drivers, vehicles and dwellings update in place, with no duplicate clients or policies.

Field-level change history

See exactly what moved: premium, limits, deductibles, coverages, drivers and vehicles, with the old and new value next to each other.

Alerts to the right person

Agency admins choose which changes send an email and who gets it: the client's agent, all admins, or selected team members.

AI extraction on every refresh

InsurGrid's extraction engine re-reads each updated dec page and turns it into structured, review-ready policy data.

Safe, complete updates

A refresh is saved only when the whole update succeeds. If anything fails, the existing policy data stays exactly as it was.

"Last synced" on every card

Producers and CSRs can see how current a policy is before a quote, a renewal review or a service call.

How Policy Change Monitoring works

Your client connects once. InsurGrid keeps checking, and your team reviews what changed.

Client connects their carrier once

Clients share policy data through your InsurGrid intake link, as they do today. Eligible connections are enrolled in automatic refresh.

Insurance policy selection interface with Auto Insurance selected, showing options for Auto, Home, and Umbrella Insurance, and upload sections for current and new auto insurance documents.
Insurance premium comparison showing a savings of $288.50 (11.7%) by switching from Orion180 Insurance Company with a $2,474.58 annual premium to Certain Underwriters at Lloyd's, London with a $2,186.08 annual premium, including removed discounts in the new policy.

InsurGrid refreshes and compares

Every 15 days, InsurGrid pulls the latest dec pages, extracts the policy data and compares it to the last version. Each difference is labeled as an event.

Your team gets the alerts you choose

Turn alerts on or off for each event and choose who receives them. The producer reviews the change and decides the next step with the client.

Table comparing insurance coverage limits, deductibles, and premium impact for categories like Dwelling, Other Structures, Personal Property, Loss of Use, Personal Liability, Medical Payments, Water Backup, and Wind/Hail Deductible.

What InsurGrid flags on every refresh

Each refresh is sorted into events your team already works with, and every change is compared field by field against the last version.

CancelledCancellation date set or changed. Follow up before a coverage gap opens.
Not renewedTerm expired with no new term. Time to remarket while the client still has options.
RenewedNew term found. Review the new terms and confirm nothing important changed.
ReinstatedCancellation cleared. Close the follow-up and keep the record straight.
ChangedMaterial change to premium, limits, deductibles, coverages, vehicles, drivers or dwellings.
Sync pausedLogin changed or verification required. The policy card shows "Sync paused — action needed" with the reason.

Built for renewal and retention work

Use change alerts wherever a policy change should start a conversation.

Common workflows

Renewal readiness
Start renewal reviews with current coverage, not the version from intake six months ago.
Remarketing
A non-renewal or a premium jump gives the producer time to shop the account before the term ends.
CSR follow-up
Cancellation alerts let service staff reach out quickly and document what happened.

Policy Change Monitoring FAQs

Answers for agencies keeping client policy data current between renewals.

How often are policies refreshed?

Eligible connected policies are refreshed automatically every 15 days. After the client connects once, refreshes run in the background, and the policy card shows when each policy was last synced.

Which policies are eligible?

Automatic refresh works for supported carrier connections that don't require multi-factor authentication at each login. Policies added by manual upload are not refreshed automatically. Confirm carrier coverage during onboarding.

What happens if a refresh fails?

Nothing is overwritten. The existing policy data stays as it was, the policy card shows "Sync paused — action needed" with the reason, and your team can ask the client to reconnect.

Who receives change alerts, and does it cost extra?

Agency admins choose which events send email alerts and whether they go to the client's agent, all admins or selected team members. Policy Change Monitoring is included in InsurGrid's $99/month flat-rate plan.
