We at InsurGrid, Inc. (“InsurGrid”, “us”, “we, or “our”) know you care about how your information is used and shared. This privacy policy (the “Privacy Policy”) describes what information we collect when you use the InsurGrid Platform (collectively, the “Service”) – and how we use and share such information.
This Privacy Policy covers non-public information that can be used to personally identify you (such as your name, phone number, email address, and your insurance account information) – as well as other information we collect (collectively, “User Information”).
By using or accessing the Service in any manner, you acknowledge that you accept the practices and policies outlined in this Privacy Policy, and you hereby consent that we will collect, use, and share your information as set forth below.
2. What We Do
Our mission is to make buying and selling insurance simple and transparent for everyone. Our technology provides an easy way for you to provide information regarding your current insurance policies to insurance agents and other third parties who provide insurance related products and services (“Providers”). By delivering access to current insurance account data, we power a variety of insurance products and services.
3. Types of User Information We Collect
Directly Collected Information
As part of your first use of the Service, we may present you with input fields to provide us certain information. Such information may include, but is not limited to:
•First and last name
•Email
•Phone number
•Date of birth
•Driver’s license
•Driver’s license state
•The insurance company(ies) you hold current policies with
•The login credentials (such as user name and password) for your insurance accounts
If applicable, you may also be asked to provide such information for other people (such as additional insured individuals who are on your motor vehicle insurance policy).
The foregoing information will be used and shared as set forth below.
Insurance Account Information
We use the insurance carrier login credentials you provide us (as notes above) to access your applicable insurance account. From your insurance account we pull (meaning we make a copy of) various information. The specific information we pull may vary based on the nature of the insurance product or service you are seeking from the applicable Provider. Examples of the information we pull may include, but is not limited to:
•Your insurance policy number
•Your insurance policy declaration page
•Your address
•Your insurance coverage limits
•The details of your insurance coverage
•What your insurance deductibles are
•What your insurance premiums are
If applicable, the vehicle identification numbers for your motor vehicle, and the names and addresses of anyone else on your vehicle insurance
The foregoing information will be used and shared as set forth below.
Usage Data
We may also collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Service or when you access Service by or through a mobile device (“Usage Data”).
This Usage Data may include information such as your computer's Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.
When you access Service with a mobile device, this Usage Data may include information such as the type of mobile device you use, your mobile device unique ID, the IP address of your mobile device, your mobile operating system, the type of mobile Internet browser you use, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.
4. Use of Data
InsurGrid uses your User Information, for the following purposes:
(a) to provide and maintain the Service (in particular, to help enable your relationship with Providers – see Section 5 (Providers) below);
(b) to notify you about changes to the Service;
(c )to allow you to participate in interactive features of the Service when you choose to do so;
(d) to provide customer support (including notices to you about your interactions with the Service);
(e) to gather analysis or valuable information so that we can improve our Service;
(f) to monitor the usage of the Service;
(g) to detect, prevent and address technical issues;
(h) to fulfill any other purpose for which you provide it;
(i) to carry out our obligations and enforce our rights arising from any contracts entered into between you and us;
(j) to provide you with news, special offers and general information about other goods, services and events which we offer that are similar to those that you have already purchased or enquired about unless you have opted not to receive such information;
(k) in any other way we may describe when you provide the information; and
(l) for any other purpose with your consent.
5. Sharing of Data
We may share your User Information with some third parties – but only as described in this section:
Insurance Product Providers: We provide your User Information to the Provider you are dealing with. For example, if you are in connection with an insurance agent online to receive competitive quotes, and elect to use the Service for such purpose, we will send the agent your User Information so they can fulfill your request. PLEASE NOTE: This Privacy Policy does not limit their use of your User Information. We do not control the Providers or their use of your User Information. As such, you should review each Provider’s own privacy policies.
Our Own Service Providers: We employ other companies and people to perform tasks on our behalf and need to share your information with them to help facilitate such tasks. In addition, we may use third parties to send you SMS messages (such as for Service authentication), , process and administer customer surveys, etc. In the course of providing such services, these third party providers may have access to your information – but they are only authorized to use or disclose your information in connection with providing us with their services.
With Your Consent: We may share your User Information with third parties with your consent. The functionality of the Service will make it clear when you are about to share information in this manner – and the audience it will be disclosed to. Such third parties will treat such information in accordance with their own privacy policies and you should read them.
Business Transfers: We may choose to buy or sell all or substantially all of the assets of InsurGrid, Inc. In these types of transactions, customer information is typically one of the business assets that would be transferred. Also, if we (or our assets) are acquired, or if we go out of business, enter bankruptcy, or go through some other change of control, your User Information could be one of the assets transferred to or acquired by a third party.
Protection of InsurGrid and Others: We reserve the right to access, read, preserve, and disclose any information that we believe is necessary to comply with law or court order or governmental request; enforce or apply any agreement we have with you, or otherwise to protect the rights, property, or safety of InsurGrid, our employees, our users, or others.
Aggregate, De-Identified, or Anonymized Information: We may collect, use, and share User Information in an aggregated, de-identified, or anonymized manner (that does not identify you personally) for any purpose permitted under applicable law. This includes creating or using aggregated, de-identified, or anonymized data based on the collected information to develop new services and to facilitate research.
6. Access and Correction
In accordance with applicable law you may have the right to access, update or delete your User Information. This means you may have the right to 1) be informed of the User Information we collect, how we use it, what User Information we have shared with third parties, and to be provided with a copy of that information; and 2) have corrections made, or have the information deleted if it is not accurate or processed in violation of applicable laws. You may be able to exercise these rights by logging into your online account within the Service. Otherwise please submit a written request using the details provided in the Contact Us section below.
7. Retention of Data
We will retain your User Information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your User Information to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.
We will also retain Usage Data for internal analysis purposes. Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period, except when this data is used to strengthen the security or to improve the functionality of our Service, or we are legally obligated to retain this data for longer time periods.
8. Information Collected from Other Websites and Do Not Track Policy
Through cookies we place on your browser or device, we may collect information about your online activity after you leave our Service. Just like any other usage information we collect, this information allows us to improve the Service and customize your online experience, and otherwise as described in this Privacy Policy. Your browser may offer you a “Do Not Track” option, which allows you to signal to operators of websites and web applications and services (including behavioral advertising services) that you do not wish such operators to track certain of your online activities over time and/or across different websites. The Service does not support Do Not Track requests at this time, which means that we collect information about your online activity both while you are using the Service and after you leave the Service.
9. Transfer of Data
Your information, including User Information, may be transferred to – and maintained on – computers located outside of your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction.
If you are located outside United States and choose to provide information to us, please note that we transfer the data, including User Information, to United States and process it there.
Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to that transfer.
InsurGrid will take all the steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy and no transfer of your User Information will take place to an organization or a country unless there are adequate controls in place including the security of your data and other User Information.
10. Security of Data
InsurGrid takes reasonable precautions to protect your User Information and to limit the risk that it will be accessed without authorization, including through the use of industry standard technologies and practices. For example, your information is maintained at our premises, or the premises of our third party providers, using industry standard security measures. We use Security Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption technology to encrypt sensitive User Information (such as your social security number) before it is sent via the Internet.
If we learn of a security systems breach, we will promptly investigate the matter. If we learn that such breach has caused any material loss, damage or unauthorized access to your non-public information, we will promptly attempt to notify you via email or by a posting on your Service account page - so that you can take appropriate protective steps. We will endeavor to notify you of (i) the nature, timing and extent of the breach, as well as the what we are doing in response and (ii) the steps you can take to protect your information and, if reasonably possible, mitigate things.
By using the Service, you consent to receive such notice by electronic means (provided that such consent is void where prohibited by applicable law). In addition to the security measures referenced above, you must prevent unauthorized access to your account and information by limiting access to your computer or device and browser by signing off after you have finished accessing Your account.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, we cannot guarantee that our security measures are 100% impenetrable. Unauthorized third parties may be able to defeat our security measures and access your information.

12. Third Party Sites, Services and Applications
The Service may contain links to other sites, services or applications that are not operated by us. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the privacy practices of any such third party sites, services or applications. We strongly advise you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit.
13. Children's Privacy
Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with User Information, please contact us (see the contact information below). If we become aware that we have collected User Information from children without verification of parental consent, we delete that information as quickly as reasonably possible.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy was last changed on the date set forth at the top of the policy. We’re constantly trying to improve the Service, so we may need to change this Privacy Policy from time to time as well. If we make any changes, we will post the new policy on InsurGrid’s website at https://www.insurgrid.com/privacy-policy. In addition, we will also edit the date at the top of this Privacy Policy to reflect the date of the changes. If you use the Service after any changes to this Privacy Policy have been posted, you agree to all of the changes. Unless we have your express consent to the contrary, use of information we collect now is subject to the Privacy Policy in effect at the time such information is collected (meaning – Privacy Policy changes will not otherwise be retroactive). We will also notify Insurance Product Providers of any material changes, as they are generally best positioned to notify their client (such as yourself) about such changes to this Privacy Policy.
